Cougs helping Cougs on full display during Giving Tuesday

Washington State University donors made 271 gifts totaling $85,719 spread among 109 funding areas across the WSU system during Giving Tuesday on Dec. 3. On the heels of Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday is a day of philanthropy that kicks off the year-end charitable giving season across the world.

"We are grateful for the generosity of every Coug who participated in this global social-media movement," said Mike Connell, vice president for Advancement and CEO of the WSU Foundation. "This support helps us champion student success and career readiness, catalyze economic opportunity, and serve as an engine for globally scaled innovation."

During the 2024 Giving Tuesday campaign, WSU's donors supported a wide range of areas that span scholarships, faculty research, programs, facilities, colleges, campuses, athletics, and more.

Student hardship funds and food pantries also are a common year-end area of support. On Giving Tuesday, donors gave $3,600 to these crucial student support funds.
