Alyson Albrycht, an undergraduate neuroscience major, reviews structures within the human brain on an Anatomage Table in the Jacobs Interprofessional Immersive Simulation Center while Dr. James Burkett, an assistant professor of neuroscience in the College of Medicine and Life Sciences, looks on.
Burkett's Functional Neuroanatomy class is one of the primary users of the University's four interactive Anatomage Tables, which allow students to explore human anatomy with highly detailed digitized human cadavers.
The tables, which were made possible due to a generous philanthropic donation, are located the Sim Center and the Mulford Library. In addition to the neuroanatomy class - part of the new Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience Program - the tables have been used by medical students, nursing students and physician assistant students.
