Three Texas Men Arrested in Cheatham County for West Nashville ATM Robbery

Three Houston, Texas, men are in jail for committing a substantial robbery of a Bank of America ATM as a repairman was servicing the machine at 6602 Charlotte Pike just after 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Quick coordination between West Precinct officers, Violent Crimes detectives, Kingston Springs Police, the Cheatham County Sheriff's Office, and the FBI, with the assistance of license plate reader (LPR) technology, led to the apprehension of the three in Cheatham County and the recovery of thousands of dollars in cash.

Those arrested are Jayveon Q. White, 23, Michael Austin Murphy, 24, and Trevion D. Rice, 24. They are presently being held in the Cheatham County Jail on charges of resisting arrest. Aggravated robbery warrants have been issued against all three in Nashville. They will be booked here once the Cheatham County charges are resolved.

The three suspects are accused of approaching the repairman with a gun or an object to make the victim think they were armed. They demanded that he step away from the machine and quickly stole cash containers from it. They fled west on Charlotte Pike in a white Toyota Camry that displayed a Tennessee license plate (plate number captured by a bank camera) that was stolen on Wednesday morning from Antioch. Some 14 minutes later, a license plate reader in Kingston Springs detected the car. Seven minutes after that, Kingston Springs police responded to a shots fired call. It seems that the men had pulled behind an old bank building near a woman's home. She yelled at them, and they yelled back threatening her. She reported being in fear and fired shots at the car. The men sped away from that location and, a short time later, were spotted by Kingston Springs police and Cheatham County deputies. The three bailed from the car and were almost immediately apprehended.

The men have criminal histories from Florida and/or Texas. They refused to be interviewed by MNPD detectives and FBI agents.
