BlueCross Named a Best Employer for New Graduates

Insurer is second-highest ranked Tennessee-based company

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BlueCross) has made the Forbes 2024 list of the Best Employers for New Graduates, coming in at 101 out of 400 employers across the country in its first appearance on the list.

"Over the past few years, we've enhanced our early career development opportunities to recruit exceptional talent for entry-level roles and to develop our future workforce," said Roy Vaughn, SVP and chief human resources officer. "We hope to effectively prepare talent to transition from college to working professional - and through this strategy, we're able to invest in our employees and our company."

Recruitment efforts include the expansion of the BlueBridge internship program which targets undergraduate students entering or completing their junior or senior years. The company also launched BlueSky Tennessee Institute, a technology workforce development partnership with East Tennessee State University that provides a path to a bachelor's degree in Computing and a job offer from BlueCross in just 27 months. In the past year, BlueCross has also revamped its onboarding program to enhance elements that help new talent feel welcome and support effective engagement with the company's culture from day one.

Forbes rankings are based on the results of an independent survey conducted among more than 100,000 young professionals (those with less than 10 years of work experience) working for companies with at least 1,000 employees in the US. All Forbes rankings are based on actual feedback from employees, and the recognition can only be earned.

Survey participants were asked:

• If they would recommend their employer to others.

• To rate that organization in such areas as compensation, benefits, advancement opportunities, working conditions, flexibility, company image and inclusion.
