Closure on U.S. Highway 169 and Cookingham Dr for Urgent Bridge Inspection on Sept. 16

CLAY COUNTY - The Missouri Department of Transportation has closed westbound Cookingham Dr at the bridge located on U.S. Highway 169 after the bridge was struck on Monday, Sept 16. This closure will be in place until the bridge inspection is complete, and any repairs can be made if needed. The suggested state detour is Interstate 435. Also, the long ramp from Cookingham to the I-435 interchange along northbound U.S. Highway 169 to Cookingham Dr. will be narrowed.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
