Ambassador Tigran Galstyan had a meeting with Emil Boc, Mayor of Cluj-Napoca

On 15 July, in the framework of his visit to Cluj County of Romania, Tigran Galstyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Romania had a meeting with Emil Boc, Mayor of Cluj-Napoca, the center of Cluj county.

During the meeting, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia presented the course of an active Armenian-Romanian political dialogue, including the perspectives of closer decentralized cooperation.

The historical role of the Hungarian-speaking Armenians of Cluj in the social-political life of the region, as one of the ancient venues of the Armenian Diaspora, was emphasized, welcoming the special attention of the local authorities towards the numerous historical national minorities living in Transylvania.

The mayor of Cluj-Napoca presented the long-term development vision of the second largest city in Romania by population, based on the "Green. Digital. Resilient" concept, as well as the city authorities' initiatives in the field of higher education and innovative technologies, aimed at the well-being of students, being a quarter of the city's population.

The interlocutors discussed the possibilities of implementing joint projects in the educational, economic and high-tech fields, within a decentralized cooperation, including the format of inter-university cooperation and mutual visits of experts.
