President Rivera-Mills selected to participate in 2024 Convening for Pioneering Presidents

President Susana Rivera-Mills has been selected as one of the participants of the Council of Independent Colleges' (CIC) 2024 Convening for Pioneering Presidents and Board Chairs, generously supported by the Mellon Foundation.

The intensive three-day event will bring together presidents and their board chairs from 21 colleges and universities across the country to identify practices that support the success of pioneering presidents and create a roadmap for how future groundbreaking leaders can be supported in their work.

Participating presidents were identified by the CIC selection committee as those who have broken tradition or heralded a significant change in institutional leadership.

"I am honored to join the 2024 Convening for Pioneering Presidents and Board Chairs," said Dr. Rivera-Mills. "This event offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with esteemed colleagues dedicated to advancing higher education through innovative practices and visionary leadership. I am excited to participate, as this convening will not only support AU's mission of providing an inclusive and transformative learning experience but also offer new insights to better prepare our students for success in an ever-evolving world."

The convening will occur on August 1-3, 2024, in Washington, D.C. The findings from the convening will be shared with CIC member institutions and the broader higher education community.
