Booker Continues Annual Jersey Road Trip with Stops in Union, Monmouth Counties

NEWARK, N.J. - U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) continued his annual Jersey Summer Road Trip today in Plainfield to attend Shiloh Baptist Church's Outdoor Service and Block Party and in Red Bank to tour Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy. Each summer, Senator Booker embarks on a tour of all of New Jersey's 21 counties to highlight the work he's doing to make a difference for New Jerseyans in the Senate - and highlight the ways New Jerseyans are making a difference in their communities.

"Every day, New Jerseyans are working to make their communities better and stronger," said Senator Booker. "I'm proud to be meeting New Jerseyans in Union and Monmouth counties to hear about the hard work they are doing to help others, and hear directly from them on how I can support their work in the Senate."

Shiloh Baptist Church has been serving the Plainfield community since 1908. Reverend Dr. Danielle L. Brown, a native of Perth Amboy, is the Senior Pastor of the congregation, and is the first woman to hold the position in the congregation's history. The Block Party featured a DJ, barbeque, face painting, and a bouncy house.

Ritesh Shah Charitable Pharmacy is a nonprofit community pharmacy in Red Bank that provides medications at no cost to uninsured and underinsured patients. New Jerseyan Ritesh Shah, who has been honored with the New Jersey Pharmacists Association Pharmacist of the Year Award for his philanthropic work, founded the pharmacy in April 2022.

Booker's annual road trip continues tomorrow with stops in Ocean and Hudson counties. For more information, please contact [email protected].
