Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Redwood Avenue
Released: August 24, 2024 at 2 p.m.
Winnipeg, MB- At 1:06 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, two-storey multi-family residence in the 300 block of Redwood Avenue.
When crews arrived on scene, they found smoke coming from the building. They entered and fought the fire from the interior. The fire was declared under control at 1:39 p.m.
Crews completed a search and no occupants were found. There were no injuries reported.
The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
If residents see someone actively entering a vacant structure, or removing boards from windows or doors, they should report the incident immediately by calling the Winnipeg Police Service at 911.
Anyone who sees that boarded windows or doors have been breached, but did not see someone actively entering or attempting to enter a structure should report the incident to 311.
