PennDOT's Fayette County Maintenance Update Week of July 8, 2024

Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of July 8. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Base repair:

• Route 119 (Memorial Boulevard) in the City of Connellsville.
• Route 1001 (Kooser Road) in Springfield Township.
• Route 1073 (Crawford Avenue Extension) in the City of Connellsville.
• Route 2017 (Clay Run and Maple Summit roads) in Springfield and Stewart townships.

Bridge replacement:

• Route 3008 (Willow Grove Road) in Nicholson Township.

Brushing:

• Various routes countywide.

Pipe flushing:

• Route 201 (Fayette City Road) in Jefferson Township.

Pipe replacement:

• Route 2011 (Dinnerbell-Ohiopyle Road) in Wharton Township.

Shoulder cutting:

• Route 3009 (Walnut Hill Road) in German and Georges townships.
• Route 3012 (Leckrone Highhouse Road) in German Township.
• Route 3013 (Masontown Road) in German Township.

Shoulder repair:

• Route 40 (National Pike) in Wharton Township.

Sign upgrading:

• Various routes countywide.

Sweeping:

• Various routes countywide.

Tail ditching:

• Route 381 (Farmington-Ohiopyle Road) in Wharton Township.

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the county.

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern. This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
