PennDOT Announces Bridge Replacement Project in Centre County

07/02/2024

Clearfield, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced a bridge replacement project will begin in State College Borough in Centre County on Monday, July 8. The bridge is situated on Route 3022 (University Drive) over College Avenue and replacing it will improve safety and ride quality for motorists by bringing the quality to a higher standard.

Route 3022 will be closed, and work will occur under a detour. The detour will utilize Route 26 (East College Avenue), Porter Road, and Route 3007 (East Park Avenue) for a length of approximately two miles. The structure is 66 feet long and carries an average of 11,688 vehicles daily. PennDOT anticipates completion in the middle of August, but all work is weather dependent.

Charles S. Hann, Inc. is the contractor for this $2 million project. The Route 3022 bridge is one of three bridges to be improved under this contract, with the others to see work in early 2025.
