This adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' classic story delves into themes of friendship, loyalty, and resilience in the face of conflict.
Director C. Drew Vidal, associate professor of theatre at Ball State, emphasizes the play's relevance to contemporary issues.
"At its core, The Three Musketeers is a story about friendships and how life's trials can test them. It is a very human story, so the twists and turns will not look so different than today's news cycle, from politics vs. religion and wars abroad, to love, revenge, and the costs of violence," Prof. Vidal said.
This adaptation of The Three Musketeers was originally commissioned by the Illinois Shakespeare Festival, under the artistic direction of Deb Alley, and premiered in 2010.
