Orange County Animal Services Announces 11th Annual Barktoberfest

Orange County, FL - Orange County Animal Services (OCAS) is thrilled to announce the 11th annual Barktoberfest will be held Sunday, Oct. 27, from noon to 4 p.m. at Lake Eola. The annual celebration highlights the invaluable partnerships OCAS has with the animal rescue community, showcasing pets ready to be adopted and making the community aware of the importance of finding homes for animals in need.

"Our team is brimming with excitement for this year's Barktoberfest, which is shaping up to be our largest yet," said Diane Summers, Manager for Orange County Animal Services. "I'm so proud of the way our team unites to host this event and shine the spotlight on all of the amazing work our rescue partners conduct each and every day."

Various rescue groups from Florida will be present, with several different breeds, ages and sizes of pets available for adoption. The OCAS Mobile Clinic will be onsite offering complementary rabies vaccinations and microchipping to the qualified* pets of Orange County residents. In addition, the event boasts food trucks, entertainment for children, pet-related vendors and a free photo booth.

"Each year our number of event attendees increases, a testament to the growing awareness for our shelter's relationship with the rescue community," said Summers. "Lifesaving is not achieved in a vacuum, it's a team effort and the rescue groups play a large role in that so we're happy to host this event to drive recognition, adoptions, foster care interest and donations toward their efforts, to help them thrive and succeed."
