Five Things to Know This Week

1. The Flossmoor Public Library welcomes the Peoria Riverfront Museum to Flossmoor on Wednesday, July 24. The museum will bring its portable planetarium to provide a one-hour guided tour among the stars, starting at 6 p.m. Registration is required for this free, limited-space event at www.flossmoorlibrary.org.
2. Bring your kids out to Irons Oaks on Thursday, July 25, at 4 p.m. for Bubble-Ology. They will have exploring and making bubbles in all forms; just $10 per child for residents. Sign up at www.hfparks.com.
3. Thursday, July 25, is IPO Chamber Night in Downtown Flossmoor! The fun starts at 5 p.m. with dining and shopping, then the free concert begins at 5:45 p.m. with the Bel Canto Community Choir, followed by the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra. Pull up a chair, enjoy an outdoor dinner & drinks while you listen to beautiful music as the sun sets. New this year: an auction of artwork made by five plain-air painters earlier in the day. It is an iconic evening in Flossmoor; don't miss it!
4. Saturday, July 27, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Physicals Plus (19740 Governors Highway) and the Flossmoor Business Association invite you to the 3rd Annual Community Health Fair, where you can receive free health assessments, blood-pressure screenings, giveaways and school supplies. 5. Saturday, July 27, Dunning's Market & Deli hosts its 4th Annual Battle of the Chefs, a live cooking competition, to benefit the iCan Dream Center. Watch two teams of chefs get creative with a basket of secret ingredients, then sample the results.
