Knowsley's Cabinet has endorsed the Knowsley Community Safety Partnership Strategic Plan (2025 - 2028).

The Strategic Plan is focused on delivering the Knowsley 2030 priority of making Knowsley a place "where strong and safe communities can shape their future."

The Strategic Plan has been developed by Community Safety Partners in Knowsley, including Knowsley Council, Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, the Probation Service and Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board. Co-opted partner agencies include housing associations, voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector organisations and the Police and Crime Commissioner.

Knowsley's Community Safety Partnership work in cooperation to reduce crime and disorder within the borough and produce a strategic plan which outlines how the Partnership will work in collaboration to tackle those issues.

The Knowsley Community Safety Partnership Strategic Plan 2025-28 identifies three priorities to improve outcomes for the residents of Knowsley:

  • Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women and Girls
  • Anti-Social Behaviour
  • Serious and Organised Crime

Working in line with the Knowsley Better Together principles, each of the strategic outcomes set out within the Strategic Plan for 2025-2028 contains several "where we want to be" actions which the Community Safety Partnership will work towards.

Cllr Shelley Powell, Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods, said: "In keeping with the Knowsley 2030 strategy, Knowsley Council and our Community Safety Partners continue to work hard to create strong, safe, and resilient communities. Something we all want to see. All partners have a role to play in ensuring our residents feel safe and enjoy a good quality of life. The Strategic Plan highlights what has been achieved in meeting our aims while acknowledging the work we still need to do and the challenges we face."

The Strategy will now be considered by the full meeting of the Council in the New Year.
