Juvenile Arrested With Gun In Poughkeepsie

On June 27. 2024, the New York State Police Community Stabilization Unit and City of Poughkeepsie Neighborhood Recovery Unit arrested a seventeen-year-old for Criminal Possession of a Weapon, a class C felony, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a class E felony, and Unlawful Possession of Certain Ammunition Feeding Devices, a class B misdemeanor.

At approximately 7:50 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted on a 2020 Mazda CX3 for violations of the vehicle and traffic law on North Hamilton Street in the city of Poughkeepsie. Investigation determined the seventeen-year-old passenger was in illegal possession of a Glock model 43 handgun.

The seventeen-year-old was arraigned before the city of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to the custody of a juvenile facility.
