Escape Lawful Custody – Public Assistance: C24-175246

On July 29, 2024, at approximately 7:20 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report regarding two inmates who had escaped custody while on an escorted leave from the Manitoba Youth Centre.

The Major Crimes Unit and the Manitoba Integrated Violent Offender Apprehension Unit (MIVOAU) have assumed the investigation and seek public assistance in locating Charlie DIXON and Haiden GUIMOND, both 19 years of age. DIXON and GUIMOND were serving youth sentences at the Manitoba Youth Centre (MYC) and were participating in a community program in the North End when they fled from Corrections Officers. The Winnipeg Police Service was contacted, and West District General Patrol officers assisted in searching numerous locations for the escapees.

The descriptions of DIXON and GUIMOND are provided below:

Description:

  • Approximately 5'8" with a medium build and medium-length black hair
  • Last seen wearing ripped jeans, a blue T-shirt, a beige zippered jacket, blue and white Air Jordan runners
  • Wears Glasses

2. Haiden GUIMOND (19) Photograph of GUIMOND

*WANTED: Unlawfully-At-Large*

Description:

  • Approximately 5'8" with a large build and short brown hair
  • Last seen wearing jeans, Blue Air Jordan runners, and a black sweater

Investigators have obtained a court order authorizing the release of the identity of the now adult suspects in connection to an investigation.

DIXON and GUIMOND should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached if encountered.
