Harrison County I-35 bridge repair project to begin next week

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - A project to repair the East 280th Street Bridge over Interstate 35 in Harrison County is set to begin next week. Contractors from RA Knapp, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will narrow southbound I-35 to one lane between mile markers 97 and 94 just north of Bethany (Exit 92).

The bridge was struck and damaged in a traffic crash in September. The contractor will work to make repairs to the bridge pillars, barrier, and the shoulder of I-35. All work is expected to be complete in November 2024.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
