Lieutenant Dereck Willis Sworn In as Member of Georgia Fire Investigator's Association Board of Directors

The Valdosta Fire Department (VFD proudly announces that Lieutenant Dereck Willis has been officially sworn in as a member of the Georgia Fire Investigator's Association (GFIA) Board of Directors. This important elected appointment, which took place on August 4, 2024, emphasizes Lieutenant Willis's unwavering commitment and expertise in arson investigation and fire prevention, and VFD is honored to have him representing the organization at this prestigious level.
The Georgia Fire Investigator's Association, recognized as the 8th Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), relies on the leadership and guidance of its Board of Directors and Officers. These leaders are elected annually by the general membership during the Southeastern Arson Training Conference (SEATC) held in Savannah, Georgia, and conduct business in accordance with the organization's Constitution and Bylaws.
