The City of Mesa is partnering with United Food Bank for the annual Turkey Tuesday frozen turkey and cash donation drive. The event will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Mesa Convention Center North Parking Lot, located at 40 E. MLK Jr. Way, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. This year's goal is to collect 2,000 turkeys and $20,000 in cash donations to help provide holiday meals for the less fortunate in our community.

"Our community's generosity shines extra bright during the holiday season, and the Turkey Tuesday drive is one of the best examples of that spirit in action," said Mayor John Giles. "By coming together to donate turkeys, we're ensuring that families across Mesa can enjoy a warm and meaningful Thanksgiving meal." The Mesa community's generous contributions at last years event yielded a total of 1,149 turkeys and $34,669 in donations. This year's event sponsor, Desert Financial, has generously committed to donating $25,000 for Thanksgiving meals in honor of Turkey Tuesday.

The community is invited to join the City of Mesa and United Food Bank in celebrating this season of gratitude by giving to those in need. Anyone able to contribute is welcome to drop off their donations at the event. In addition to frozen turkeys, City employees will also be collecting cash donations and canned goods to help benefit United Food Bank. Every $31 raised helps provide a turkey for a family in need this holiday season. Cash donations can be made in-person at the event or online at www.feedaz.org.

"We are honored to once again be the recipient of the City of Mesa's annual Turkey Tuesday," said Jason Reed, CEO of United Food Bank. "Each year, United Food Bank helps thousands of Arizona families share a traditional holiday meal. We are grateful to the generous donors who make this possible; your contributions truly make a difference in the lives of those in need this holiday season."

This is the 16th Annual Turkey Tuesday collaboration between the City of Mesa and United Food Bank.
