Attorney General Mayes Announces Sentencing in Drug Trafficking Case

PHOENIX - Attorney General Kris Mayes today announced the sentencing of Lino Bol. Bol was a member of a multi-state drug trafficking organization operating in Arizona, Texas, Iowa North Dakota, Nebraska, and Illinois.

"My office will continue to work tirelessly to dismantle drug trafficking organizations that ship fentanyl into Arizona and our local communities," said Attorney General Mayes. "I'm proud of the dedicated agents, investigators, and prosecutors at the Attorney General's Office who are working every day to protect Arizonans. Those engaged in illicit drug trafficking should be on notice that my office, along with our law enforcement partners, will find you and bring you to justice."

Law enforcement identified an individual shipping large quantities of fentanyl to dealers in different states. An Investigation into financial, shipping, and phone records helped identify members of the criminal enterprise, including Bol, who lived outside of Arizona.

The conspirators sent and received money through various cash and money transfer applications. These were usually accompanied by shipping records originating in Tucson. Some of the packages were intercepted and large quantities of fentanyl pills were located.

Lino Bol was a member of a cell operating in Texas. Bol, along with other individuals in group, sent approximately $68,862 to Tucson and received 16 packages believed to contain fentanyl. Based upon the money transferred and the messages exchanged, law enforcement officers estimate this group received over 16,0000 fentanyl pills.

On August 21, 2024, Bol pled guilty to one count of Illegally Conducting an Enterprise, a Class Three Felony and Attempted Transportation for Sale of a Narcotic Drug, a Class Three Felony. On September 19, 2024, Bol was sentenced and ordered to serve three years on probation. As a condition of probation, Bol was also sentenced to one-year incarceration in the Pima County Jail.

Assistant Attorneys General Matthew McCray and Matthew Ashton handled this case for the Attorney General's Office.
