Court Services Officers, Parole Agents and Juvenile Corrections Agents Recognized for Their Work in South Dakota

PIERRE, S.D.-Gov. Kristi Noem has officially proclaimed the week of July 21, 2024, as Court Services Officer, Parole Agent, and Juvenile Corrections Agent Week in South Dakota. This week-long campaign aims to honor the invaluable work that community corrections professionals do to maintain the safety and wellbeing of our communities.

Community corrections professionals, including court service officers, parole agents and juvenile corrections agents, play a crucial role in the justice system. They use evidence-based practices to develop and implement case management plans for the supervision of adult and juvenile offenders on probation, parole and aftercare within the community.

These trained professionals collaborate with community agencies and groups to provide essential referrals to services that aid in prevention, intervention and advocacy. Additionally, they offer services, support and protection to victims of crime, ensuring a comprehensive approach to community safety and rehabilitation.

Court services officers, parole agents and juvenile corrections agents are dedicated advocates for positive change, both for offenders and the broader community. Their commitment to fostering safe environments and supporting rehabilitation efforts is integral to the fabric of our justice system.

The South Dakota Unified Judicial System extends its gratitude to these professionals for their unwavering dedication and service.
