Norton Rose Fulbright receives dual accolades at ALB Hong Kong Law Awards 2024

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has received two prestigious accolades at the Asian Legal Business Hong Kong Law Awards 2024.

Corporate and securities partners Psyche Tai, Rachel Chan and Harold Tin were instrumental in securing "M&A Deal of the Year" for their exceptional work in advising HSBC, BOCI and ING as the joint financial advisers to Chow Tai Fook Enterprises on its landmark buy-out of NWS Holdings for HK$35.5 billion / US$4.5 billion. The monumental transaction represents the largest general offer in the Hong Kong market over the past five years and APAC's largest public takeover finance last year.

Reflecting the firm's multidisciplinary strengths, Norton Rose Fulbright's banking and finance team led by consultant Peter Haslam and counsel Alvin Wong also advised in relation to the cash offer financing of the transaction, which was concurrently nominated for "Finance Deal of the Year".

Additionally, Vinda International's HK$26.1billion / US$3.3billion voluntary general cash offer and subsequent privatization which the firm's corporate and securities advised on was also shortlisted for "M&A Deal of the Year", further underscoring the firm's strength in the M&A arena.

In the individual categories, Becky Tai was named "Young Lawyer of the Year" at the awards, recognizing her outstanding track record in shipping finance and her unwavering support to clients in achieving their business objectives. Throughout her career, Becky has advised on a wide array of cross-border and cross-disciplinary maritime and offshore structured financing transactions.

The firm was also shortlisted in three other categories:

• Dispute Resolution Lawyer of the Year: Daniel Ng
