The Department of Streets Announces Schedule For Street Paving For Various Streets Throughout Philadelphia

Philadelphia - Streets Commissioner, Kristin Del Rossi announced today that temporary street closures and parking restrictions to accommodate street milling in the 4^th Highway District on October 5th, 2024. (Day work)

On October 5^th, city forces expect to complete paving on the following streets:

• Crittenden Street from Gorgas Lane to Mt. Airy Avenue
• Woodbrook Lane from Stenton Avenue to Anderson Street
• Park Line Dr & Horter St between Wissahickon Ave and Cliveden St.

The city forces has confirmed that daytime paving operations will occur in the 4^th Highway. Work will be completed in three separate phases: street milling, the adjustment of manhole covers and resetting of utility boxes, and final paving. These activities will take place in separate construction phases spanning over the course of the next several months. Work for milling the old asphalt is anticipated to occur during the day shift and take approximately five (5) days per corridor. Work for adjusting manhole covers and resetting utility boxes will take place during the day shift and is anticipated to last two (2) to three (3) days per corridor. Lastly, operations for the final paving are anticipated to occur during the day and take approximately three (3) to five (5) day per corridor, weather dependent.

All work will take place during daytime hours from 7:30AM to 3:30PM. The roadways will remain open with temporary flagging to direct traffic.

To complete the work, residents should expect some parking restrictions. Temporary "No Parking" signs will be posted in advance of each scheduled activity. Residents are urged to move their cars from the work sites when temporary "No Parking" signs are posted, so that vehicles are not towed. In the event a car is towed, please contact the local Police District to determine its location. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling around the work areas.

While the Streets Department will make every effort to minimize disruption to traffic, residents are urged to plan and use alternative routes when traveling in these areas. The Streets Department thanks residents in advance for their patience and cooperation as we work to improve City streets.
