Three Ways CSG Fosters Inclusion and Belonging Beyond Pride Month

How CSG Makes Inclusion a Year-Round Commitment

Explore three practices that CSG has adopted to reaffirm its support of the LGBTQ+ community in all seasons:

Employee belonging group events

CSG's employee belonging groups (EBGs) keep an active presence by hosting companywide speakers and events all throughout the year. Hosted by Pride at CSG in partnership with related EBGs, these collaborative series recognize how identities intersect to influence employees' unique challenges and lived experiences.

Recent events co-sponsored by EBGs at CSG include:

  • Leading With Love: A Conversation with Nebraska Husker Gymnast Sam Phillips
  • Break the Stigma: World Suicide Prevention Day
  • Life Through Trans Eyes with Nikole Parker, Equality Florida
  • Fireside Chat with Nebraska State Senator Megan Hunt

By venturing beyond the bounds of a single identity, regular EBG events keep LGBTQ+ issue areas top of mind for the broader company well outside of Pride month.

External partnerships

Research shows that that LGBTQ+ women and people of color have consistently more negative workplace experiences than their white and male counterparts. That's why CSG understands the importance of reinforcing its dedication to supporting marginalized groups and advocating for global human rights.

In addition to creating specialized human resources, like a new LGBTQ+ Benefits Guide, CSG also partners with outside organizations to better serve employees. By making public declarations of support, such as signing the Human Rights Campaign's Count Us In Pledge, CSG underscores its commitment to taking a stand against LGBTQ+ discrimination.

CSG also joined Pride Matters in Tech, a coalition of companies working together to amplify transgender and non-binary employee voices across the tech industry. Together, CSG's external partnerships form a united front to combat issues frequently faced by individuals of the LGBTQ+ community.

Ongoing educational opportunities

Inclusion starts with education. CSG promotes continuous learning for all its people, not just those directly impacted by DEI issues. In addition to the featured speaker series, employees are encouraged to participate in ongoing educational opportunities hosted throughout the year.

CSG's regular 15-on-15 series shares bite-sized insights on DEI topics ranging from inclusive hiring and accessibility to microaggressions and mental health first aid. With an average participation of 320+ attendees per month, these sessions invite conversation and connection to develop a deeper understanding of DEI challenges and best practices.

CSG also implements more formal education to foster inclusion and belonging beyond Pride month. New e-training on workplace diversity saw strong participation globally and introduced foundational concepts that set the stage for more meaningful continued learning opportunities. A specialized DEI Accelerator training was also introduced to further encourage professional development for leaders interested in deepening inclusive team-building skills.

These DEI measures encourage allyship and accountability within teams, while strengthening a sense of psychological safety and belonging for worldwide LGBTQ+ employees at CSG.
