Inez Whitlow Honored for Empowering Women

In 1997, Inez Whitlow founded Chicks in Crisis with the mission of assisting teens and women facing crises. The organization provides support for unplanned pregnancies, financial hardships, homelessness, job loss, and lack of education, offering hope and assistance for a better future. Inez is the driving force behind the organization, serving as its foundation and public face. Over the past 28 years, she has dedicated herself to supporting pregnant mothers and has played a key role in establishing Chicks in Crisis as a vital presence in the community. Inez and her team are committed to guiding teens, women, and men toward self-sufficiency and transforming them into responsible parents who can create a healthy and happy environment for their children.

On August 7, the Cosumnes CSD Board of Directors recognized Inez Whitlow at their regular meeting. They acknowledged the ongoing struggle for women's equality and the importance of supporting organizations like Chicks in Crisis that help women and families achieve their full potential. Additionally, they designated August 26th as Women's Equality Day, commemorating the historic 19th Amendment that granted women the right to vote.
