St. Helens Fall Burn Dates on Hold Due to Wildfire Danger

St. Helens, Ore. - Outdoor burning of yard debris is on hold in St. Helens due to the ongoing danger of wildfires in our region. Columbia County remains under a burn ban for the fire season through the Oregon Department of Forestry. Once the 2024 burn ban is lifted for the season, the City of St. Helens will announce new dates for this year's fall burn period.

The City of St. Helens normally hosts a 16-day fall burn period beginning the third Saturday in October. This allows residents to burn yard debris such as tree limbs, branches, leaves, grass, hay, straw, and other woody debris.

Oregon has experienced a record-breaking wildfire season in 2024. The City of St. Helens and Columbia River Fire and Rescue encourage residents to keep St. Helens and Columbia County safe from wildfires by observing burn bans.
