Meeting with the Head of the EU Delegation in Uzbekistan

On October 8, 2024, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev held a meeting with the Head of the Delegation of the European Union in Uzbekistan Toivo Klaar. During the meeting, a detailed exchange of views took place on the current situation in Afghanistan and the efforts of the international community, as well as Uzbekistan and the EU, to expand cooperation in the Afghan direction.

The parties agreed on the need to continue regular bilateral contacts to coordinate efforts in Afghanistan. The Head of the European Union Delegation highly appreciated the efforts of Uzbekistan to develop a consolidated regional position on Afghanistan, establish long-term peace and stability in the country, as well as provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.
