PennDOT Maintenance Forces to Start Work on Bridge Replacement

08/23/2024

Clearfield, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that its Clinton County Maintenance division will start a bridge replacement project along Route 4001 (Kettle Creek Road) in Leidy Township, Clinton County, on Thursday, September 5. Replacing this bridge, which spans Summerson Run near the lower entrance to the Kettle Creek Park camping area, will improve the overall condition rating of the structure from fair to good.

Starting September 5, PennDOT will implement a detour using Route 144 and Route 120. PennDOT anticipates the detour being in place for approximately two weeks. All work is weather-dependent.

This project is a joint effort between PennDOT's Clinton County Maintenance Division and Nestlerode Contracting Company Co. Inc., of Lock Haven, PA. PennDOT will complete the excavation, install erosion and sedimentation controls, and backfill. The contractor will place the new precast reinforced concrete box culvert, complete approach paving, and install guide rail. The contract amount for this project is just more than $344,000.
