TD Bank Golf Tournament raises over $14,000 for NMCC Foundation

Aroostook County - The 17th annual TD Bank Golf Tournament to Benefit the NMCC Foundation took place on Thursday, August 15th, at the Presque Isle Country Club. This year's event raised $14,851 to support students at Northern Maine Community College, drawing the largest number of teams since 2019. A total of 21 teams, comprising 88 golfers, teed off in the annual scramble.

The partnership between the College and TD Bank began in 2006 and has raised $314,824 to date for scholarship funds. "Thank you to the local employers who registered teams and spent the day supporting our cause. This tournament raises funds for students facing financial barriers, and our community recognizes the value of helping students reach their goals," stated NMCC Dean of Development Griffin Goins. "We could not make this event happen without the support of TD Bank and all of our generous sponsors."

The First Place Lowest Gross winning team included Mike Boone, Ricky Goupille, Jonah Hudson, and Cody Merrill, with a score of 57. Boone, Hudson, and Merrill also won First Gross in last year's tournament.

The First Place Lowest Net winning team included MMG's Terri Ouellette, AJ Cloukey, Patty Cavagnaro, and Kyle Corrigan, with a score of 52.

The Ladies Long Drive was awarded to Jessica D'Ottavio. The Men's Long Drive went to Jonah Hudson. The Closest to Pin prize was won by Matt Henderson.

Major sponsors for the event included MMG Insurance, Louisiana Pacific, PepsiCo., R.M. Davis & Michael P. Wood, and Allegiance Trucks. Lunch sponsors included Aramark, WBRC Inc., and Northern Maine Media - WHOU. Hydration sponsors included Huber Engineered Woods and McCrum Family Holdings. Social Hour sponsors included Allegiance Trucks and Dead River Company. TownSquare Media provided media sponsorship of the event.
