Rev. Greg Semeniuk Is Guest Speaker During Fatima Shrine’s Annual Hispanic Family Day

The Rev. Greg Semeniuk, C.M., vice president of mission at Niagara University, celebrated the Eucharist and spoke about the meaning of Holy Year 2025 at Fatima Shrine in Lewiston, N.Y., on Aug. 24 as part of the shrine's Annual Hispanic Family Day.

The event, which was organized by Sr. Roberta Fulton, SSMN, director of the Diocese of Buffalo's Office of Cultural Diversity, included a Mass celebrated in Spanish, self-guided tours of the shrine and its grounds, Eucharistic Adoration, and the recitation of the rosary. Deacon Miguel Santo and his wife, Denise Góñez-Santos, a member of Niagara University's Board of Trustees, served as leaders for the day. Father Semeniuk's talk focused on hope, the theme designated by Pope Francis for the 2025 Year of Jubilee. He invited those in attendance to reflect on the signs of hope, which include young people, to share the challenges facing young people, and to discuss how communities can contribute to helping young people thrive.
