Groundwork North Wales is excited to announce the launch of its 2024 Annual Impact Report, showcasing our commitment to positive change for People, Places, and Planet.
Over the past 12 months, Groundwork North Wales has continued to drive forward initiatives that improve the lives of individuals and communities across the region. The report outlines the tangible impact of our work, underscoring the importance of collaboration in creating a sustainable and fair future.
Committed to working with individuals facing multiple challenges, particularly those in areas lacking social infrastructure and economic opportunities. Through a variety of projects, we have focused on increasing confidence, skills, well-being, and employability, with particular attention to helping those out of work progress through volunteering, training, and employment pathways.
Groundwork North Wales is helping people create better places, making communities greener, healthier and better prepared for the future and enabling people to work together to bring about change in their local area.
One standout project is the Clywedog Valley Heritage Partnership, which has moved forward to the next stage of its ambitious plans to restore, enhance, and engage local communities with the built and natural heritage of the valley. Spanning from Minera Mountain in the west to King's Mill in the east, this initiative is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, helping preserve and celebrate the region's rich heritage.
Groundwork North Wales is offering assistance to people to protect the planet by providing resources, guidance, and practical solutions for reducing their environmental impact, and fostering sustainable practices in their daily lives. Through initiatives like the BESN and LEAP projects, our Energy Team has provided vital energy-saving advice and installed home energy measures for households at risk of fuel poverty across North Wales.
At the heart of our success is the unwavering dedication of our staff, whose passion, skills, and determination have driven our initiatives forward. Alongside our partners and funders, we are creating real, lasting change in the communities we serve, with an emphasis on collaboration and inclusivity.
Karen Balmer, CPFA, Group CEO said
