Bombing of School in Deir Al-Balah, in the Gaza Strip

The Brazilian Government condemns the bombing, carried out today, July 27th, by the Israeli army, of a school that was sheltering internally displaced persons from the conflict in Gaza-located in Deir Al-Balah, in the center of the Strip-which resulted in about 30 deaths and dozens of injured people, including women and children.

By expressing absolute repudiation of the use of military force against the civilian population and urging full respect for human rights and the international humanitarian law, Brazil reiterates the urgency of implementing the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2735 and calls on all parties involved in the conflict to exercise maximum restraint and engage in talks to achieve an immediate and lasting ceasefire.
