Rocket Attack in the Golan Heights

The Brazilian Government condemns the rocket attack carried out today, July 27th, on a soccer field in Majdal Shams-located in the Golan Heights, occupied by Israel since 1967-which resulted in more than a dozen deaths and over 30 injured people, including children and adolescents.

Brazil expresses its absolute repudiation of attacks against the civilian population and warns of the danger of spreading the ongoing conflict in Gaza throughout the region.

In this context, the Brazilian Government emphasizes the need for the immediate implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2735 and calls on all parties involved to exercise maximum restraint and refrain from actions that could lead to an escalation of violence in the Middle East.
