In Germany, Volodymyr Zelenskyy Met with Olaf Scholz

During his working visit to Germany, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

The Ukrainian leader informed the Chancellor about the situation on the frontline and the consequences of Russian missile terror against the Ukrainian people and critical infrastructure.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Olaf Scholz for all the comprehensive assistance, especially military, received by Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.

"Thank you that these supplies are of a permanent nature. It is very important. It is the foundation of our successful fight for Ukraine's independence. I am grateful for the leadership in strengthening our air defense system, which saves Ukrainian lives," the President said.

The Ukrainian leader commended the Government of Germany for ordering additional air defense systems of various configurations to strengthen the Armed Forces, as well as the decision to transfer additional Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers and Leopard 1A5 tanks to Ukraine, which was announced at the Ramstein meeting.

Among the issues discussed at the meeting were the implementation of the bilateral security agreement and possible areas for expanding defense cooperation, including joint arms production.

The leaders paid special attention to the implementation of the Peace Formula. Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Olaf Scholz for his personal participation in the first inaugural Peace Summit. The parties discussed the implementation of its decisions and preparations for the second Summit.
