NOPD Seeking Additional Information in Ongoing Homicide Investigation

The NOPD is seeking additional information in its ongoing investigation of a homicide that occurred on February 11, 2024, in the 1900 block of Jourdan Avenue.

At about 7:03 p.m. on February 11, NOPD Fifth District officers responded to a call of a medical emergency at the location. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive adult black male with no apparent signs of injury. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene and the death was deemed unclassified. However, upon further investigation, the Orleans Parish Coroner's office ruled the death a homicide by shooting.

On February 14, 2024, the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office identified the victim as 32-year-old Robert Singleton and determined cause of death to be from gunshot-related injuries.

On March 29, NOPD Seventh District officers arrested Kyana Traylor on a charge of second-degree murder in connection with this incident.

Detectives continue to investigate this incident and are asking anyone with additional information to come forward and to speak with them

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
