Introducing a New Visual Identity Reflecting Robinhood’s Growth and Vision for the Future

When Robinhood was founded, we set out to build a platform that gives everyone access to the financial markets. Over the last decade, we've disrupted and changed the industry for the better, becoming the first U.S. retail broker to offer commission-free trading, and saving investors billions in the process. In recent years, we've expanded our offering, ushering in a number of new cutting-edge products and services that help everyone - regardless of income - trade, invest, and earn. From Robinhood Retirement, Robinhood Gold Card, joint accounts and crypto trading, to advanced charts and industry-leading* margin rates for more seasoned investors, Robinhood is quickly evolving into the full-service financial platform for the new generation of investors.

To celebrate that growth and to mark the beginning of a new chapter in Robinhood's story, we're excited to start rolling out an elevated new visual identity that better reflects who we are today and signals what's in store for our future.

"Robinhood's new visual identity is an external representation of the growth and maturity of our business," said Michael Goodbody, VP of Marketing at Robinhood. "Throughout the design process, we channeled the bold and disruptive spirit that defines Robinhood to create something completely different that elevates our brand and challenges the industry as a whole. The result is a modern and sophisticated look that is more accommodating, stretches across our growing suite of products, and positions us as the home for serious investors for generations to come."

The updated design features:

  • An iconic, simplified logo symbol and supportive wordmark.
  • A focused color palette, rooted in black, white and neutrals, with purposeful pops of Robin Neon: a bright yellow green unique to Robinhood.
  • A technical and distinct illustrative style that's like a work of art.
  • A sophisticated use of photography that's sharp, precise, mature, and unexpected.
  • An intentional modular layout system.

A number of key marketing surfaces will begin to reflect the refreshed visual identity today, including in the app, on web, email, social media, and more. The full rollout will continue across all product and marketing surfaces over the next several months, and will be fully integrated by early next year.

The overarching design ethos was "less is more," which guided us to create a visual identity that is bold and cutting-edge, but also sophisticated and focused - pushing the boundaries of what's expected in design amongst our peers, further breaking Robinhood away from imitators. The new direction gives our customers a more streamlined, distraction-free experience that allows them to focus on making serious decisions about their future and finances.

In addition to being reflected throughout our products and marketing materials, the company's refreshed visual identity will be an integral part of marketing campaigns moving forward, including recently unveiled initiatives, such as:

  • New Ad Creative. The new identity already debuted in a new Robinhood Gold ad campaign that launched in mid-September. The ongoing campaign highlights how customers can make their money work for them at Robinhood, giving members the rates and products competitors usually reserve for their ultra-wealthy private clients. It is still in-flight and includes a mix of linear TV, digital video, paid social & search, podcasts, radio, and direct mail.
  • NBA Partnerships. Robinhood's new, updated logo is now prominently featured on the jerseys for the Memphis Grizzlies and Miami Heat. Announced at the end of September, these multi-year jersey patch partnerships are part of Robinhood's effort to reach new audiences and local communities in-markets where they are. These latest jersey deals are on-top of our existing partnership with the Washington Wizards.
  • HOOD Summit. The new visuals are also being used in the marketing for Robinhood's first-ever customer-focused conference: HOOD Summit 2024, a three-day event (Oct. 16-18) in Miami geared toward active traders. On the event page, which highlights the schedule, featured speakers, FAQs, and sponsors, you'll notice Robinhood's new logo and color palette being used throughout.
