Celebrating CEPH's 50th Anniversary and Our Founding Role

August 29, 2024

Join us as we commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), an organization whose roots trace back to a pivotal collaboration between the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH)-or ASPPH as we are now known-and the American Public Health Association (APHA). This one-day, multi-session conference, which will take place on October 26, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 4:45 PM CT at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, will highlight good practices and innovative strategies in public health education. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with peers, share insights, and celebrate the remarkable progress CEPH has achieved since its founding.

The Registration fee is $400, and CEPH has secured a room block at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, with rooms starting at $199 per night.

A Legacy of Excellence

CEPH's journey began with the foresight of ASPH and APHA, who, together, in 1946, recognized the need for a dedicated accrediting body for public health education. Under the leadership of Dr. John Romani and other visionaries, CEPH was officially established in 1974. From an initial group of 10 accredited schools, CEPH has expanded its reach to 256 accredited units, shaping the future of public health education.

As we mark this milestone, we at ASPPH are proud to have played a foundational role in CEPH's creation and growth. We invite you to join us in celebrating this legacy and look forward to the next 50 years of innovation and excellence in public health education.
