Lawsuit Filed Against a Group Company

Kuraray Co., Ltd.

Kuraray Europe GmbH (hereinafter "Kuraray Europe"), a Group company in Germany, was the target of two patent infringement lawsuits filed at District Courts Munich I and Mannheim by SEKISUI CHEMICAL CO., LTD. regarding the Trosifol® The Wedge Acoustic and Trosifol® The Wedge Acoustic Shadeband interlayer films for laminated safety glass, which are manufactured and sold by Kuraray Europe.

Respect for both Kuraray's and other companies' intellectual property is foundational to the Company, and we conduct due diligence regarding such intellectual property before manufacturing or selling products. Our legal opinion towards these lawsuits differs from that of SEKISUI CHEMICAL CO., LTD., and we are working with Kuraray Europe and local legal counselors to properly address the situation.

We do not anticipate an impact on Group performance from this incident. We will promptly disclose further matters as needed should they occur.
