du, one of the largest telecommunications operators in the Middle East, is deploying Oracle Alloy to offer cloud and sovereign AI services to business, government, and public sector organizations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

du serves nine million consumers in the UAE with mobile, fixed-line, and broadband internet services and caters to more than 100,000 businesses in the region with a wide range of network, satellite, and ICT-managed services. The UAE public sector is one of the most digitally advanced in the world. It is rapidly embracing the benefits of the cloud to improve its agility to deliver citizen services, efficiency, security, and access to the latest digital technologies, such as AI and machine learning.

Oracle Alloy enables du to become a cloud provider and innovate faster with greater customization and control. du's customers now have access to more than 100 Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services, including the latest AI, all tailored to meet the specific needs of the UAE markets and industry verticals while ensuring alignment with the UAE regulatory requirements.

Oracle's sovereign AI capabilities will assist du in accelerating adoption of AI in the UAE public sector. Oracle's distributed cloud, OCI Generative AI service, and OCI AI Infrastructure, will enable du to quickly deploy AI and other cloud native capabilities for its customers base. The company will also use Oracle Alloy to modernize its internal IT and engineering systems.

du will run these new services from its own data center in the UAE, enabling its customers to migrate their systems more effectively to the cloud while providing greater control over operations, location, and security to help manage strategic public sector data and support digital sovereignty. Oracle is the only hyperscale cloud provider capable of delivering AI and a full suite of 100+ cloud services across dedicated, public, and hybrid cloud environments, anywhere in the world.

Oracle Alloy, an award-winning cloud infrastructure platform, enables service providers, integrators, independent software vendors (ISVs), and other organizations to capitalize on the unprecedented business and new growth opportunities of the cloud. It functions as a full cloud region that Oracle supports and updates with new features as they become available in other Oracle public cloud regions worldwide.

Oracle's Distributed Cloud Delivers the Benefits of Cloud with Greater Control and Flexibility

OCI's distributed cloud lineup supports:

  • Public cloud: Hyperscale public cloud regions serve any size of organization, including those requiring strict EU sovereignty controls. See the full list of regions here.
  • Dedicated cloud: Customers can run all OCI cloud services in their own data centers with OCI Dedicated Region, while partners can resell OCI cloud services and customize the experience using Oracle Alloy. Oracle also operates separate U.S., UK, and Australian Government Clouds, and Isolated Cloud Regions for U.S. national security purposes. Each of these products provide a full cloud and AI stack that customers can deploy as a Sovereign Cloud.
  • Hybrid cloud: OCI delivers key cloud services on-premises via Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer and Compute Cloud@Customer and is already managing deployments in over 60 countries.
  • Multicloud: Options including Oracle Database@Azure, MySQL HeatWave on AWS and Microsoft Azure, Oracle Interconnect for Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Interconnect for Google Cloud allow customers to combine key capabilities from across clouds.
