Big South Fork to Celebrate National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 28th

Oneida, TN - Get outdoors and take part in the celebration of National Public Lands Day with the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area on Saturday, September 28, 2024. The park will be hosting a volunteer trails work day that day. All interested persons should report to the Leatherwood Ford Gazebo at 8:30 am ET that day.

All backcountry camping permits are also half off on September 28. Enjoy a night under the stars in the backcountry of the Big South Fork by obtaining a backcountry camping permit at one of our Visitor Centers or online at https://www.pay.gov/public/form/start/353488124. These permits are good for a stay of up to 14 days.

National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest, single-day volunteer event in which eight federal agencies as well as other groups partner together to maintain and protect the environment. Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area is commemorating its first 50 years by sharing a year-long celebration in 2024.
