BEKASI, OCTOBER 2, 2024.PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) is once again delivering the benefits of the Quota Donation Movement Program (GDK) to 28 educational institutions across Indonesia. This time, SMK Adhi Karya in Cabangbungin, Bekasi Regency, is among the recipients, along with 27 other institutions. By the end of the year, XL Axiata aims to support a total of 200 educational institutions, including schools, pesantren (Islamic boarding schools), orphanages, and facilities for individuals with disabilities, to access the advantages of the GDK Program.

The Director & Chief Enterprise Business and Corporate Affairs Officer of XL Axiata, Yessie D. Yosetya, accompanied by Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Marwan O. Baasir and Group Head for XL Axiata in the Jabodetabek Region, Rd. Sofia Purbayanti, delivered donations to representatives of the beneficiaries at SMK Adhi Karya on Wednesday (2/10).

Yessie remarked, "The relaunch of the GDK Program reflects XL Axiata's commitment to continuously facilitate and support the government in advancing digitalization in education #JadiLebihBaik. Our commitment is demonstrated by our goal of connecting 200 educational institutions in Indonesia to free internet access through XL Axiata's GDK Program by the end of the year. In just two weeks since the launch, 57 educational institutions have already been selected as beneficiaries."

She further noted that, in addition to providing data quotas from customers, XL Axiata is donating internet routers and offering digital literacy training to both teachers and students through this program. This training emphasizes the significance of digital literacy in supporting the teaching and learning process. Such support is intended to help educational institutions overcome challenges related to limited budgets and insufficient digital resources.

XL Axiata is providing over 30 million MB of extra internet quota to 28 educational institutions. This free internet quota can be utilized for 12 months by each institution. Additionally, each institution will receive a free internet router and starter pack, which they will own.

SMK Adhi Karya in Cabangbungin was selected as one of the recipients of the GDK quota due to its significant need for adequate internet access to support its teaching and learning activities. The school has had very limited internet access, often requiring students to use their parents' phones, which also have very restricted data, for digital exams.

To address this need, XL Axiata is not only providing extra free internet quota through the GDK Program but also offering educational support that includes complete computer equipment, whiteboards for eight classrooms and one computer lab, as well as updated nameplates for each classroom. In addition, an exhaust fan will be installed in the computer lab to enhance comfort during learning activities.

SMK Adhi Karya, located on Jalan Raya Garon Barat in Desa Setailaksana, Kecamatan Cabangbungin, Bekasi Regency, West Java, is a private vocational school focused on two areas: accounting and motorcycle engineering and business. The school has nearly 200 students and 20 teachers, with many of the students' parents working as farmers and belonging to the lower-middle economic class.
