The Bedrock of Our Government

The Constitution starts with "We the People, in order to form a more perfect Union…do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

Each day that we wake up under the glorious stars and stripes is an opportunity to strive for a better future. Our Constitution is a beacon of democracy and hope, reminding us that progress is always possible.

Having fought on battlefields to protect and defend our country and now as your representative in Congress, I've sworn an oath to uphold this Constitution. Its words are deeply personal to me.

The Constitution embodies our ongoing quest to improve and perfect our Union. Let's reflect on that as we celebrate Constitution Day.
