Notable Trends

  • Seven aggravated assaults reported this week with five arrests and two open investigations. In one arrest, the suspect strangled the victim and slapped and pushed them down the stairs. In another, the suspect pulled out a knife while driving and threatened to stab the passenger in her car multiple times. The victim escaped without injury. The three other arrests involved firearms. In one, the suspect pointed a gun at the victim and followed them as they drove off. In another, the suspect pointed a gun at the victim during an argument. In the last arrest, the suspect grabbed one victim, pointed the gun at another victim and shot a round in the air.
  • Two rapes reported that are both open investigations. In one, an officer picked up a sexual assault kit from the hospital but was not able to contact the victim. Officers arrested the suspect in the other case.
  • Two of the three commercial burglaries reported this week were the same suspect returning to a business she was previously trespassed from and stealing from them both times. She was arrested once, and charges referred the other time. In the other case, a suspect pried open a back door and stole a bunch of shoes on display. They were only the left shoes of the pair.
  • Five auto thefts with an arrest in one case. Two suspects were caught on security footage stealing a 1995 Chevy 2500. Officers recognized one suspect and located her later wearing the same clothing seen on video. She no longer had the vehicle, but it was recovered by Tacoma PD. Two other cars were recovered, one by Federal Way PD and the other by the Thurston County Sheriff's Office after the victim was able to track his car.
  • Seven bikes stolen this week. Three were e-bikes. One was recovered the day after it was stolen when an officer recognized it from a picture the victim provided.
