TRAFFIC ALERT New Castle County I 95/Rt 896 Interchange Upcoming Closures

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces to motorists that there will be an overnight lane closure and lane shifts on Route 896 from Sunday through Wednesday for bridge and barrier removal work. There will be overnight lane closures on southbound I-95 for barrier removal and relocation (Tuesday - Thursday). There will be daytime lane closures on northbound I-95 for truck access (Monday - Thursday) and bridge inspection (Wednesday). The continuous right lane closure on southbound Route 896 over I-95 remains in place.

I-95 AND RAMP IMPACTS

· Monday, October 14th through Thursday, October 17th: Daytime Lane Closure, Northbound I-95 between the Route 896 Interchange and the Welcome Center (9AM - 6PM)
· Tuesday, October 15th through Thursday, October 17th: Overnight Lane Closure, Southbound I-95 between the Welcome Center and the Route 896 Interchange (7PM - 5AM)
· Wednesday, October 16th: Daytime Lane Closure, Northbound I-95 between the Toll Plaza and the Route 896 Interchange (9AM - 12PM)

Route 896 IMPACTS

· Sunday, October 13th through Tuesday, October 15th: Overnight Lane Closure, Southbound Route 896 and Lane shift Northbound Route 896 between the I-95 Interchange and the Old Baltimore Pike:

o Sunday, October 13th: Southbound Route 896 lane closure (9PM - 5AM), Northbound Route 896 lane shift (11PM - 5AM)
o Monday, October 14th: Southbound Route 896 lane closure and Northbound Route 896 lane shift (10PM - 5AM)
o Tuesday, October 15th: Southbound Route 896 lane closure between the I-95 Interchange and Glasgow High and Northbound Route 896 lane shift (if needed) (10PM - 5AM)

· Continuous through Friday October 25: Around the Clock Right Lane Closure, Southbound Route 896 over I-95.
