B&M Reopens Downpatrick Store Following Previous Closure Due to Flooding

This morning at 8am on Saturday 14th September, store colleagues at B&M Downpatrick were delighted to finally reopen and welcome customers back into the shop.

The store had been closed since last year due to serious flooding which devastated the whole town and all businesses within The Grove Shopping Centre, where B&M Downpatrick is situated. The community has spent months trying to recover after the catastrophe and after much refurbishment, B&M are thrilled to be back in action.

After receiving a reopening date, B&M's store manager said: "We hope the community of Downpatrick are going to be as delighted as we are after hearing the news. We cannot wait to start welcoming customers back through the doors once again."

To commemorate the reopening of the store, colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity to cut the ceremonial ribbon and welcome customers back inside. They chose the team from Fountain Foodbank to take centre stage for all of the hard work they do in the local community.

Fountain Foodbank is an independent foodbank helping those in Downpatrick and surrounding areas. They provide emergency food parcels to those who find themselves in difficult circumstances. Their aim is to reduce food poverty in the local area, whilst also working with local agencies who can provide long term support or benefit advice to offer a full-rounded support approach.

The store manager from B&M commented: "Fountain Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do."

Customers can expect to find the usual fantastic variety of branded groceries for the best possible price, including a wide range of food, drink, and pet food. There will also be a selection of quality health & beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts, and plenty more to explore.
