Road and Lane Closures on 2nd Avenue Begin Tuesday
ROME - Weather permitting, crews will close 2nd Avenue between Shorter Avenue and State Route 101. The right northbound lane on 2nd Avenue will be closed from West 3rd Street to just before the freight receiving entrance of Floyd Medical Center. Along with those closures, a temporary traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of SR 101 and Turner McCall Boulevard. The work is part of the project on 2nd Avenue that will include improvements along the route and remove the closed section of roadway. The project is slated to be completed in Fall 2026.
