Senator Wicker Statement on October 7th Anniversary

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., the highest-ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement:

"A year ago, innocent Israelis and Americans were kidnapped, brutally raped, and murdered. Today, we demand the release of the hostages and remember the victims," Senator Wicker said. "Make no mistake: Iran and its proxies have no stated purpose other than the destruction of the Jewish state and they publicly regard the United States as the 'Great Satan.' The slogan 'From the River to the Sea' is not mere words. This is a call for genocide, pure and simple."

"Israel invited none of this aggression. How Israel decides to protect its people and its democracy is their decision to make. As they go on offense, we stand by our most steadfast ally in the region. The civilized world should stand together for a swift, sustained, and victorious response."
