Franklin Blvd, Industrial Rd and 10th Street Waterline Project Begins Aug 5

The City of Nampa will begin upgrading water mains on 10th Street North, Franklin Boulevard and Industrial Road. Commercial and residential water services and fire hydrants will also be upgraded, as needed, along the new water main. This project is designed to improve water service consistency and fire flow reliability.

Local access to residential property and businesses within the project location will be available throughout the project. Access to businesses along Franklin and Industrial will remain open during traditional business hours. The contractor will notify adjacent property owners seven days in advance of any work affecting businesses or residents and will again notify property owners 48 hours before any planned water service interruptions.

To minimize traffic impacts the project will be completed in phases, with each phase generally consisting of the following:

  • Phase 1 - Replacement of water main along Industrial Road, from N Franklin Boulevard to N 20th Street. Phase 1 construction is scheduled to start on August 5 and continue into October.
  • Phase 2 - Replacement of water main along 10th Street N, from 3rd Avenue N to 5th Avenue N and then continuing through an easement over to N Franklin Boulevard, near East Plaza Loop. Phase 2 is anticipated to begin in early September and continue into November.
  • Phase 3 - Replacement of water main along N Franklin Boulevard, connecting the Phase 1 water main at Industrial Road to the Phase 2 water main at East Plaza Loop. Phase 3 work is anticipated to begin in early October and continue into December.

Construction traffic control will be in place for each phase of work. Traffic control will include lane restrictions, lane shifts and in some cases traffic control flaggers, as appropriate to the work being completed each day.

The entire project is anticipated to be finished in December 2024. However, with fall and early winter construction, some work will likely be delayed until early spring when the weather will allow for proper pavement construction.
