The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria to Armenia, Robert Gerschner (residence in Tbilisi), presented his credentials to the President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan.
The President congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him success. "I am confident that Your work will contribute to elevating our cooperation to a higher level. Armenia highly values and prioritizes cooperation with Austria. In recent times, this cooperation has become more intensive. I would also like to express my gratitude to Austria and its authorities for the support they have extended to Armenia," the President stated.
The newly appointed Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and kind words. "I am pleased to note that the relations between our two countries have been friendly from the very beginning, since 1992, and as You rightly mentioned, in recent years, we have witnessed additional positive dynamics and development in these relations," the Ambassador said.
During the meeting, the importance of close cooperation between the two countries was emphasized, both on a bilateral level and within the frameworks of the European Union.
Special attention was given to the significant role of the Austrian Development Agency in Armenia.
Discussions also covered the ways for further expanding political, economic, and cultural-educational collaboration.
Both sides positively assessed the effective communications and mutual visits at various levels between the two countries, which serve as a new impetus for strengthening cooperation in different fields.
